WEBApr 4, 2017 · If it doesn't work you can still get to the screws that hold the limit switch in place. Just mark its position, remove it completely, shut off the machine and restart. On start up you click on all the usual start up icons and you should be able to lower the Z axis. Then it's just a matter of reinstalling the limit switch back in the same position.

WEBDon't heat the spindle. Cut a piece of pipe that fits over the arbor and can press against the spindle snout. Cut it just long enough to get the arbor nut started with 23 turns with a thick washer placed between the nut and pipe end. Crank the nut down tight so it's pulling out on the arbor against the spindle snout. Now beat on drawbar.

Long story short, the nose cap was LEFT hand thread. I don't know if this applies to all Vectrax machines, but if you have a large quill Taiwanese clone I'd give it a try.

These are the three bolts around where the Quill Feed handle engages and 120 degrees from that one.
