WEBEpoxy granite, which is not granite, with steel or (thick) aluminum reinforcement has lots of benefits over typical metal setups, primarily vibration dampening, which it does much better than cast iron. So good, in fact, I'd personally only make a machine out of an epoxy granite or cast iron base.
